Machine-gun attack as gangs feud

garda van Six houses on a Limerick housing estate have been sprayed with machine-gun fire.

Garda said a man fired up to 15 shots from inside a taxi at about 2030 GMT on Tuesday.

A Garda spokesperson said some of the houses in St Ita's Street were badly damaged in the attack but no-one was injured.

It is thought the attack was connected to a long-running criminal feud in the city.
