Murder police granted more time

Shaun Fitzpatrick (collect pic, Lewis) Police investigating the murder in County Tyrone of Shaun Fitzpatrick have been granted more time to question two suspects.

A 21-year-old man was arrested shortly after Mr Fitzpatrick's body was found in an alleyway off the Donaghmore Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A second man was arrested in Dungannon on Monday evening.

Mr Fitzpatrick, 32, had been beaten to death. He was on his way home after a night out when he was attacked.

A post mortem examination has been carried out, but police said the results were not being disclosed because they formed part of an ongoing inquiry.
