Assembly broadcasting ban lifted

Stormont

A blanket ban on filming at Stormont has been lifted after the Stormont Commission amended its restrictions on cameras in the building.

Coverage of Monday's proceedings at the assembly and the BBC's Stormont Live programme will now go ahead.

The restrictions were imposed following a row over Sinn Féin's tribute to Mairead Farrell, who was shot dead by the SAS 20 years ago.

But the rules were changed at an emergency meeting on Monday morning.
