A section of the DUP wants to end the power-sharing arrangement at Stormont, according to Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams.
Interviewed for BBC Radio Ulster's Inside Politics, Mr Adams says he has been concerned over the future of the devolved administration for some time.
He believes discussion about the future leadership of the DUP might impact the stability of the Stormont Executive.
Mr Adams is due to address his party's Ard Fheis in Dublin later.
"I am concerned about those who are against what is happening," he said.
Speaking about the devolution of justice and policing powers, Mr Adams continued: "That, in my view, is why the DUP are refusing to move on the issue at this time, they are only delaying it."
