One killed, two injured in crash

Crash scene A woman has been killed and two other people injured in an road accident in County Down.

Two cars collided on the Rathfriland Road just outside Banbridge shortly after 1900 GMT on Monday. The woman was the passenger in one of the cars.

She was Patricia Marie Gribben, who was 27 and from Rathfriland.

The injuries sustained by another woman and a man in the crash are not believed to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile, the woman who died in a road accident in County Down on Monday was Florence Curran, 77, from Lisburn.

She was killed when two cars collided on the Windmill Road in Hillsborough, between Lisburn and Annahilt, at about 1245 GMT.

A 67-year-old man was taken to hospital following the crash. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed either accident to contact them.
