Four men are injured in assaults

Police Four men have been injured in separate assaults in Belfast on Friday night.

A Polish man was assaulted outside a bar on the lower Ormeau Road in south Belfast at about 2215 GMT.

He was hospitalised but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Two men have been arrested. A motive for the attack is not yet known.

Another man was injured at Glenside Parade, in the north of the city, at about 2145 GMT. Two other men suffered cuts and bruising in the street attack.

The first man was treated in hospital.

In a statement, police said "initial enquiries suggest that the incident was not sectarian".

Detectives have appealed for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or who has information to contact them.
