Man killed in vehicle collision

Scene of crash A man has died after two cars collided in an early morning road traffic accident in County Antrim.

He was Brian Joseph Hazzard, 21, from Ballynahinch. The accident took place on the Carryduff Road near Lisburn shortly before 0330 GMT on Saturday.

A woman injured in the incident was treated at the scene by the emergency services.

In County Laois, three men and one woman were killed when two cars collided near Borris-in-Ossory.

It is believed the crash may have been caused by a failed attempt to overtake another vehicle.
