Police officer Irish police have launched a murder investigation after a 39-year-old man was shot in Sligo.

Sean Lynch was fatally wounded as he got out of a van in the Cranmore area shortly after midnight on Friday. He died later in hospital.

A 12-year-old boy and a 44-year-old man were also wounded in the attack. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
