Men beaten in city hammer attack

Knockbreda Park Two men are being treated in hospital after they were attacked by a gang armed with hammers in south Belfast.

The pair were targeted by a group of up to five men at about 1645 GMT on Sunday at the junction of Ormeau Road and Knockbreda Park.

Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact their nearest PSNI station.

It is understood that detectives investigating the incident are not treating it as sectarian.
