Man arrested after road robberies

police car A man has been arrested after a robbery and several attempted thefts in east Belfast on Thursday afternoon.

At about 1530 GMT a man was seen running through traffic on Woodstock Link attempting to open car doors.

The man then approached a male pedestrian and stole a mobile phone from him.

A short time later a woman was walking along the Albertbridge Road when a man grabbed her coat and demanded money from her.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
