Teen attacked with baseball bats

Police tape An 18-year-old man has been dragged out of a house in County Armagh and beaten with baseball bats.

Between five and seven men forced their way into the house in the Carnaget Cottages area of Newry shortly after 2300 BST on Tuesday.

The teenager was taken into the garden and attacked. He sustained injuries to his head, both legs, and right arm.

Police said one of the gang may have had a gun and there were reports of shots being fired.

A PSNI spokeswoman described the victim's injuries as "non life-threatening".

Detectives are trying to establish a motive for the assault.
