Train hits bench left by vandals

Train A train has hit a park bench left by vandals overnight on the Belfast to Londonderry railway line.

The incident, which did not result in the train derailing, happened at 0727 BST on Saturday between Antrim and Mossley West.

Translink's Ciaran Rogan described it as a "stupid and reckless act". "There could have been serious injuries or fatalities," he said.

Passengers using the line experienced delays for a time as a result.
