Man faces stab murder bid court

police car A 19-year-old man is to appear in court in Newry later charged with attempted murder.

It follows a stabbing in Warrenpoint at the weekend.

A 21-year-old man is seriously ill in hospital after he was stabbed twice in the back at the Square in the town, at about 0420 BST on Saturday.

A 20-year-old man will also appear at Newry Magistrates Court charged with assaulting police in connection with the incident.

The stabbing victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
