Man 'critical' after road crash

Police car A man is in a critical condition in hospital following a road traffic accident in County Londonderry.

He was knocked down at the Shore Road, Ballyronan, near Magherafelt on Saturday at about 1800 GMT.

Police said the man was a pedestrian and they believe just one vehicle was involved in the accident.

They have appealed to a driver who was heading from Ballyronan to Toomebridge and who may have witnessed the accident to come forward.
