Father appeals over missing child

Shannon Ashby The father of a missing 12-year-old girl has appealed for her to get in touch.

Shannon Ashby was last seen on Saturday at about 1730 GMT near the Waterfront Hall. She is described as 5ft tall with short pink hair.

Her father Mark told the BBC's Nolan Show her disappearance is very out of character.

He said that some of her friends have said she may have gone to the Ardoyne or Lenadoon areas of Belfast.

"We have information from some friends through a website called bebo - it is very popular with teenagers - that she said she was going to stay with a friend in either Ardoyne or Lenadoon," he said.

"But that is all the information we have. If anybody knows where she is please, please let us know because we are very, very worried."
