Third person dies after accident

Crash scene A third person has died following an accident in north Antrim on Thursday.

The man was the driver of a BMW car which was involved in a head-on collision with a Renault Clio on the Ballybogey Road outside Portrush.

He died in hospital on Friday night. A man and a woman who were in the Clio were also killed.

They were Jason Worthington, 36, of Grove Road in Kells, near Ballymena, and Linda Hunter, 34, of Ransevyn Park in Whitehead.

The name of the man who died on Friday night has not been released.

The police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident or who saw either of the vehicles to contact them.

Inspector Andy Lemon said: "I would like to appeal for anyone who may have been on the Ballybogey Road either coming from Portrush or from Ballybogey or who may have seen either of these two vehicles - a red BMW and a grey Renault Clio - in either Ballybogey or Portush... if they could contact us."
