Elderly woman killed in accident

The elderly woman who died after she was struck by a car was Mary Evelyn Neish, 85, of Novara Park in Antrim.

The incident occurred on the Belfast Road, Antrim, at 1220 BST on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a man has been critically injured in a road traffic accident in County Tyrone.

A car left the Carnteel Road, near Dungannon, and hit a tree shortly before 0100 BST on Sunday. He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital.

It is believed up to five others were in the car. However, their injuries are not thought to be serious

The police at Dungannon are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
