Three held after man's body found

Scene of the incident The discovery of a body at a house in east Belfast is being treated as suspicious, police have said.

The man in his 40s was found in Tower Street in the Newtownards Road area on Tuesday afternoon. Three people are in police custody.

A PSNI spokesman said detectives were investigating the circumstances of the death.

"Three people are currently in custody assisting police with their inquiries," said the spokesman.

The discovery was made at about 1645 BST.

Local UUP councillor Jim Rodgers said the man's death was "a tragedy".
