A sculpted head of the Angel Gabriel has been installed on a bronze plinth in the cloister garden at Salisbury Cathedral.
The head, made by artist Emily Young, formed part of last year's temporary art installation celebrating the cathedral's 750th anniversary.
It is one of eight angel heads Ms Young sculpted from the same Purbeck stone the cathedral was built from.
Each stone head is about 1m high and weighs almost a tonne.
Canon Treasurer Mark Bonney said: "It's really wonderful to have the Angel Gabriel back in the cathedral in the cloister garden, where his calm aspect adds to the serenity of the surroundings.
"This sculpture will bring joy to the hearts of our visitors for many years to come."
