Man held over child abduction bid

A 19-year-old Swindon man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction, Wiltshire Police said.

The arrest follows an allegation of attempted abduction involving a seven-year-old boy near the North Swindon Family Centre on 28 May.

The man is being held at the town's Gablecross Police Station.

Insp Deb Waters, from Wiltshire Police, said it was important for parents during the summer holidays "to stress simple safety messages to children".
