Man arrested after 'shots fired'

A man has been arrested after a shotgun was allegedly fired at people visiting a crop circle in Wiltshire.

Armed police and a helicopter were called to the scene of the incident at Allington, near Devizes, at 1400 BST on Monday.

Police said a man aged 62 from Oldham, Greater Manchester, was being held on possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

Witnesses are asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
