Council boss plans to step down

Delwyn Burbidge

The Chief Executive of North Wiltshire District Council is to leave the authority early next year.

Delwyn Burbidge, a lawyer, took up his role with the council in July 2005.

The district council is to be abolished in March 2009 with its functions being absorbed into a new Unitary Council for all of Wiltshire.

Mr Burbidge said: "It has been a tremendous honour to be Chief Executive of North Wiltshire District Council for the past three years."
