Woman assaulted by school girls

A 20-year-old woman was punched to the head during an assault in Swindon.

The victim was walking along Fleming Way in the Wiltshire town when she passed a group of girls.

One of the girls shouted at her and after she verbally retaliated two of the school girls ran after her and attacked her, a police spokesman said.

The victim was left "very shaken" by the ordeal. The offenders are described as white, wearing school uniform and aged about 15.

Witnesses to the incident which happened at 1600 BST on 7 October are asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
