Arrest over armed robbery attempt

A man from Swindon has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a bookmaker's in the town.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said the man in his 20s had been remanded in custody.

He was scheduled to appear before magistrates in Swindon on Monday.

The attempted robbery at the William Hill outlet on Sandford Street happened just before 2000 BST on Tuesday 30 September.
