Jobs lost as chicken factory goes

A chicken factory based in Wiltshire is to close on Friday with the loss of 380 jobs.

Managers at the Faccenda chicken factory in Sutton Benger near Chippenham have blamed rising fuel and wheat costs for the decision.

The firm would now invest in its Northamptonshire base, a spokesman for the company said.

Managing director Ian Faccenda said the company needed to act now, to ensure it remained competitive.
