Pedestrian injured in collision

A 75-year-old man suffered head injuries when he was hit by a car in Wiltshire.

The accident happened on Friday evening after the man was struck by a Volkswagen Polo when it was turning out of a car park in Chippenham.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said the local man was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Witnesses to the incident which happened on New Road at about 1930 BST are asked to call police.
