Council grants to conserve energy

A council is planning to make £500,000 available for energy-saving projects.

The cash from North Wiltshire District Council will help village halls plus town and parish councils improve the energy efficiency of their buildings.

Up to 50 community facilities will be offered energy reviews to highlight where improvements can be made in their buildings.

Councillor Dick Tonge said: "Saving energy results in less carbon dioxide emissions and lower energy bills."
