River murder case body identified

The body of a man pulled from the River Avon in Wiltshire has been identified as 59-year-old Alan Clarke.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out, but police have not yet released the cause of death.

A passer-by spotted the body near the Waitrose supermarket in Salisbury on Saturday.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody. Mr Clarke's car has also been recovered from a car park in Salisbury.

Searches of the area are continuing, said police.
