Extra trains laid on for festival

Music fans are being advised to reserve seats in advance and to allow extra time for travel over the course of the event at Worthy Farm, Pilton.

A total of 60 extra train services will be laid on, with a shuttle bus operating between Castle Cary station and the festival site.

The extra trains will run from Swindon and Taunton.

Phil West, First Great Western's Special Events Manager said: "We're running a large number of extra trains this year, adding extra capacity, and deploying staff to this small rural station.

"Based on previous Glastonbury events, we could see up to 15,000 festival-goers using our trains."

Return journeys on Monday 25 June, will see extra services run from Castle Cary to Taunton, Swindon, and London Paddington.
