Feeders targeted in pigeon sting
People who flout requests not to feed the pigeons in Trowbridge are being targeted in a new drive to reduce the birds' numbers.
Do Not Feed The Birds signs are being put up in Cradle Bridge, the Innox Road footpath, Town Bridge along the Shires and River Biss, and Fore Street.
West Wiltshire District Council will treat anyone putting out excessive food as littering and fine them, it said.
Infestations of rats are thriving on food left out for pigeons in the town.
"We need to see this excessive feeding brought to an end - it's a vermin problem and we will do everything we can to improve Trowbridge town centre for everyone who lives and works there," said councillor Linda Conley.
