Bin collectors consider strikes

Refuse collectors in Leeds could go on strike following a row with the city council over pay.

The GMB, Unite and Unison unions will discuss a ballot for industrial action with members next week, after talks with the authority broke down.

The union said it was facing "totally unacceptable" pay cuts and could stage strikes over the summer.

The move comes as the city council revealed it was considering privatising the service.
