Woman bailed in 'home alone' case

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested and bailed after a baby and a toddler were found by police officers alone at a house in West Yorkshire.

The youngsters aged seven months and 18 months were found at a property in Hunslet, Leeds, on Wednesday morning.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed there was no adult present and that the children had been taken into the care of social services.

The woman had been interviewed by specially trained officers.

In a statement on Wednesday, West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers entered a property in Hunslet just before 5am today where two children aged seven months and 18 months were found and no adult was present.

"Social services were informed and the children were taken into care."
