Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs have opened the city's newest live music venue.
The former Town and Country Club on Cookridge Street has been restored to its former glory by the Academy Music Group, at a cost of £3m.
Originally the Coliseum building, the grade I listed venue was opened in 1885 by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Kaiser Chiefs celebrated the opening night with a one-off gig at the new Leeds Academy, supported by Hair and Red Light Company.
Confirmed future acts include MGMT and The Streets.
The sell-out gig came two days after the band was named best live act at the Q music awards.
It also marked the start of the band's UK tour.
The Town and Country Club closed in 2000 and the site reopened as Creation nightclub.
In 2007 it was then taken over by the London-based Academy Music Group, which owns and operates live music and club venues across the UK.
