Masked gunmen target man in house

A 20-year-old man has been shot in the head by masked gunmen who burst into his home in Leeds.

Three men wearing balaclavas and camouflage clothing stormed into the property at Clifton Mount in the Harehills area on Tuesday.

Police said a woman who was with the men was understood to have knocked on several doors in the area prior to the shooting asking for "Michelle".

Detectives said they were particularly anxious to trace the woman.

Det Supt Steve Payne said: "It may be that this person was not aware of the seriousness of the incident and I ask that she come forward and assist the investigation."

She is described as white, aged 25 to 28, 5ft 6in tall, with dark shoulder length hair and a black headband.

The victim is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
