The co-founder of the Leeds International Pianoforte competition Mrs Marion Thorpe has been made a CBE in The Queen's Birthday Honours list.
John Foster, ex-chief executive of Wakefield Council, and Leeds chemist Prof Michael Pilling also become CBEs.
Iqbal Bhana, of Batley, was appointed an OBE for services to the community while former detective Chris Gregg received the Queen's Police Medal.
Ray Sykes, of the Carlton Main Frickley brass band, was made an MBE.

David Price, of Leeds, was appointed an OBE for his services to music education and Mrs Bridget Stephens, JP, the ex-chief executive and chief nurse at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, was made an OBE for her services to healthcare.
Shaukat Ahmed, chairman of the Action for Business group in Bradford, was made an MBE for services to the community while Mrs Catherine Hart was honoured for her voluntary work with physically disabled people in Leeds.
John Wainwright, of Brighouse, who works on winter services at the Highways Agency was made an MBE.
