Man killed in two-car collision

A 35-year-old man has been killed and another man injured in a two-car crash on the A1 in West Yorkshire.

Police said a Mazda and Mercedes were involved in a collision northbound near the A64 turn-off at Bramham, Wetherby, at about 0130 BST on Monday.

The driver of the Mazda died from his injuries. The driver of the Mercedes was taken to hospital and is not thought to be seriously hurt.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Police said the A1 was closed for several hours and caused traffic delays.
