Man held after attempted murder

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with the attempted murder of a girl who was stabbed at a house in Bradford.

Police found the injured 14-year-old while responding to a disturbance at Andover Green in Holme Wood on 29 June.

She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with stab wounds.

A 50-year-old man who lives at the same address was remanded in custody by Bradford magistrates to appear before Leeds Crown Court on 7 July.

The teenager was critically injured during the disturbance but is now in a stable condition in hospital, police said.
