Two people have appeared in court in relation to a £6m fraud investigation.
Paul Sadler, 49, of Worcester, and Christine Eggleton, 51, of Rubery in the West Midlands, have been charged with theft and conspiracy to defraud.
The charges follow allegations against Birmingham Research and Development Limited, a trading subsidiary of the University of Birmingham.
The case will next be heard at Birmingham Crown Court on 8 October. The pair were given unconditional bail.
Mr Sadler, of London Road, and Ms Eggleton, of Farren Road, are charged with conspiracy to defraud between 1998 and 2007.
Mr Sadler is also charged with a count of theft between 1995 and 1998 and a count of theft between 1998 and 2007.
Ms Eggleton is charged with a count of theft between 1998 and 2007.
