Young child in fall from balcony

A one-year-old boy is in hospital after falling from a balcony, West Midlands Police said.

The force said it was called on Tuesday evening after the child fell from a property in Hickman Road, Tipton.

The toddler was taken to Sandwell General Hospital in West Bromwich with a head injury.

Police said his injuries were thought to be serious but his condition had improved overnight. Inquiries are continuing into the incident.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at 1950 BST to reports of a young child falling from a balcony and the boy was taken by ambulance to hospital.
