Pair charged over New Year attack

Two people have been charged after a man suffered serious head and facial injuries early on New Year's Day.

The 58-year-old man remains in hospital after the incident in Middlemore Lane, Aldridge, West Midlands Police said.

Two men from Aldridge, aged 18 and 20, are due at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 13 January after appearing at Walsall Magistrates Court on Monday.

One has been charged with section 18 wounding and two counts of actual bodily harm.

Gary David Bradley, 18, from Bonner Grove, has been remanded in custody.

Daniel Mark Humpage, 20, of Westbrook Avenue, has been charged with actual bodily harm and was granted conditional bail.

The victim was in a serious but stable condition, police said.
