Man in hospital after car crash

A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital after the car he was driving left the road and hit a lamppost.

It happened in the early hours on the border of Oldbury and Birmingham on Hagley Road West near its junction with Wolverhampton Road.

The driver, from Stourbridge, suffered a broken leg and is in a serious but stable condition.

A 23-year-old man and 24-year-old man, who were passengers in the Toyota Supra, were treated for minor injuries.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the three men had been trapped inside the vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
