Couple in court over son's death

A couple have appeared in court charged with the manslaughter by gross neglect of their four-year-old son.

Abdul Hakkam Fahad died after he was knocked over by a van in the Tyseley area of Birmingham in April.

His mother Asiya Dhanian, 22, and father Dhanial Fahad, 36, also face three counts of child neglect.

They were released on conditional bail at the city's magistrates' court and are due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 2 December.
