Vandals have daubed racist and Nazi graffiti throughout a block of council flats in Birmingham.
Nine of the 10 floors at Tintern House in Quinton had several messages and images painted on walls, doors, lifts and stairwells.
Resident, Irene Aserie, 26, told BBC News she started to shake when she saw what had been written.
Birmingham City Council said it would not tolerate such behaviour. It will take staff 24 hours to remove.
"I started shaking when I was reading the words that they had used because I had never seen anything like that before," Ms Aserie said.
"I am only 26 and I have heard things that have been said and things that happened in history but to see it in 2008, it worries me."
CCTV cameras were also sprayed to prevent any images being recorded.
