Boy's leg is broken in car crash

An eight-year-old boy sustained a broken leg when he was hit by a car in Rowley Regis on Tuesday afternoon, the ambulance service said.

Crews treated the boy at the scene in Kinnersley Crescent, Birchfield, before taking him to hospital.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The child was given pain relief treatment to allow the injury to be immobilised."

The boy was taken to Sandwell and District Hospital for treatment.
