Woman killed when car hits tree

A woman died when her car crashed into a tree in the Black Country.

West Midlands Police said the accident happened on Bloomfield Road, in the Tipton area.

The woman, who was in her 20s and believed to be from Wolverhampton, was driving a Renault Clio when it left the road and hit the oak tree.

A police spokesman said it is not believed any other vehicles were involved. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
