New computer for meningitis girl
A six-year-old girl who had two leg amputations and lost an arm after being struck down with meningitis has a new computer thanks to fundraisers.
People living in the Black Country rallied round and raised £7,000 for Ellie Bishop, of Oldbury, when they heard of her illness.
Ellie also lost fingers from her remaining hand when she became ill in February.
Fundraisers have held coffee mornings and raffles to raise money for her.
Ellie was given the new gift by staff at the Oldbury Health Centre.
The computer came with a special mouse, software and games and a webcam so she can chat to friends online.
She said to staff: "Thank you so much to everyone. It was a good surprise."
