Woman rescued from fire in flat

A woman has been rescued by firefighters after a blaze at a second floor flat in County Durham.

Emergency crews were called to Morley House on Wesso Road in Darlington after reports a woman was trapped in the flat by a fire.

She was treated by paramedics and taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital.

A spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue said Sunday's fire did not appear to be suspicious investigations continue.
