Man's body found in blaze ruins

A man's body has been recovered from the ruins of a house in Cumbria after a blaze broke out on Wednesday.

Firefighters were called to the two-storey property in Ambleside, just after 0530 GMT.

The property was well alight when emergency services arrived. Cumbria Fire service extinguished the blaze, and is now investigating the cause.

Cumbria Police said the coroner had been informed and work was under way to determine the man's identity.
