Road bridge is closed for repairs

Motorists are being warned that a road bridge in County Durham will be closed for resurfacing work this weekend.

The Derwent River Bridge on the B6314, between Burnopfield and Rowlands Gill, will be shut from 1800 BST on Saturday until 0800 BST on Sunday.

A signposted diversion will take traffic along the A694 and B6310 to Lintzford, Hamsterly Mill and Burnopfield, during the closure.

The work is being carried out by Durham County Council.
