'Too fat' BB6 winner put on bench

Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton has been put on the bench by his local football team - because his manager says he has got too fat.

The 23-year-old striker is on the books of Annfield Plain FC, who play in Division One of the Wearside League.

But after three months in the Big Brother house, the trained dancer has been dropped from his team's season opener against Birtley this weekend.

Club manager Bernie Allaker said: "He'll have to do a canny few sit-ups."

He added Anthony would need to do some 10-mile runs if he wanted to get back on the first 11.

'Well-dressed'

Mr Allaker said the entire club was backing Anthony, from Consett, County Durham, to win the £50,000 top prize - not least because it needs a new sponsor to pay for a new roof for the changing rooms.

Describing Anthony, Mr Allaker said: "He always had a tan, was well-dressed on the field and the opposition used to go berserk to get him.

"He can handle himself - he used to get up and give them some back.

Mr Allaker said Anthony was well-liked at the club, adding: "He is a great lad, and so is his family."

Anthony beat "tearful geek" Eugene Sully into second place.

Makosi Musambasi and Kinga Karolczak were also in the final.
